Our story
The second generation at the Grošelj farm
Ever since the farm was founded, the younger generations of our family have helped with the work, its design and its development. In 2020 the farm passed to the second generation, which – with some young reinforcements – continues to develop it, with the aim of offering people wonderful fruit from impeccable organic production at a fair and reasonable price. Our motto remains the same: to make our customers happy and to grow and process our fruit with joy, as a family!
About the Grošelj farm
Our story goes back to the last decade, when our father and mother, on retiring, paid tribute to the land of Prlekija in the Slovenske gorice hills. They set up the farm and, as a challenge, planted something special that had never grown on this scale in Slovenian soil. Today the orchard has 1500 pawpaw trees (Asimina triloba). It is a southern fruit that needs a few cold days a year with temperatures below 0 °C, followed by a hot summer.
Used to challenges, they studied the crop and planted the trees according to their knowledge and long experience. Wishing to preserve a clean and healthy environment, they later converted the farm to organic production and processing. Without any special agricultural techniques they even grew a record-breaking fruit weighing 965 g – a world record that surprised even the biggest growers in the Mississippi basin in the USA.

Our orchards
On our farm in the Slovenske gorice hills we grow organic fruit in three orchards.

Organic quinces for eating fresh, jams and juices, along with peaches, apricots and other fruit.
100 % natural, unsprayed & healthy
We were guided by the wish to offer people what nature provides in its most basic form – without sprays, herbicides or artificial fertilisers. That is why we mostly use Bioorganik, Amino and Algesin. For growing we use our own water source, which is unpolluted, with no additives and no chlorination.
That is also why you will find lots of ladybirds and other insects in our orchard – a sign of a clean environment. We hope to offer people healthy, high-quality and tasty tropical fruit, rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
